Has anyone (Im sure someone MUST have) sailed on her?? Can you tell me what it was like?? I missed the opportunity to sail on her or the Carnivale.. would love to hear some stories.. see some interior pics.. Croix
I cruised on the Mardi Gras in the early 80's from Boston to Halifaxfor a 4 day cruise. In those days We had Skeet Shooting alowed on the fan tail(stern) and Cruise Style "Horse Races"on the Lido Deck. The cabins were somewhat small but the meals were tasty. The Midnight Buffet was awesomeand the ship really was a lot of fun...which,incidently, never seemed to stop!
My wife and sailed a 3 day cruise on the Mardis Gras on our first cruise in 1982 out of Miami. She was a pretty ship for her time although our cabin was a bit to be desired. We had a cabin on a lower deck tucked beneath a stairway and beside one of the elevators. And the cabin had bunk beds!! The interior had teak everywhere including the stairs so when folks went up and down by our cabin, we heard every step! And when the elevator went by, it sounded like a truck. It took me 10 years to get her back aboard a cruise ship. Now we have sailed three crusie lines and have 73 days at sea under our belt.
